5 Months Old

My sweet girl is 5 months old today. Where is the time going? She is getting so big. It does not seem possible but we love her more with each day that passes. We are so blessed....She is the best baby. I love her smile, it lights up her whole face. I love when Jarred or I walk into a room and she just beams at us...it makes my heart swell with love and pride. We thank God for this most precious gift!
What Ava is up to:

• She is sleeping about 12 hours! We put her down about 9pm and she sleeps to 9am. I think she gets her love of sleep from her mommy!
• Still hates tummy time....now she just rolls over to show us she does not want to be there! I am a little concerned she may not ever learn to crawl!
• She is trying to sit up....I think it will be soon.
• She is only getting breast milk. We will probably be adding cereal in the near future.
• Still loves bath time. We bought a bath seat and it is awesome! She got a new tug boat and she could play for a hour if I let her. This is also one of my favorite times of the day. I hate that I miss it when I am at work!Loves her excersauser and her lights and sounds mirror

• She has noticed the dogs and she laughs and smiles at them. It is so cute!
• Loves to shop with Mommy. I put her in the stroller facing me and she smiles and talks to me the whole time
• She is an easy going, content baby....we are blessed!

Rockin' Baby Shower

Saturday was Andee's baby shower. The theme was Zebra/Rockstar in honor of her hubby being in a band. It ROCKED! haAva fit the part, a little party animal! Her dress was made by her favorite seamstress, Mamie!Aubree's Zebra clothes line. She is going to be the "newest" party animal!The table....we had dinner from the Olive Garden. The food was great!The cake....it was inspired by the Cake Boss (the new hit show on TLC). Of course, we had to get cake balls. If ya'll have never had a cake ball you have not truly lived! haThe favors...they were candles and the tag said "Rock On!"

The shower was a big hit and Andee got tons of cute and useful items. We can't wait until little Miss Aubree is here!

A treasure found while packing...

Have you ever stumbled across a letter that your husband wrote you years ago? This is just what happened to me tonight. I was packing my scrapbook room and found this treasure in the corner of the closet. As I read it, it bought tears to my eyes. I mean real tears! The letter explained how he knew from the first time he saw me in the pharmacy he had to call me, he said it was this overwhelming feeling. I believe it was God! It explained how lucky he was and he wonders now how he would get through a day without me. I wonder the same thing about him! It explained how he is so thankful that I have stayed with him through the hard times he was going through at the time. It explained that he would give me all he has forever! Wow, what a treasure! I think the sweetest part was how he signed the letter:
Thank you for being at the pharmacy that day, Jarred

Packing is NO FUN, but this brought a smile to my face! I thank God for allowing me to be in the pharmacy that night many years ago as well!

Ava Meets her Uncle Jimmy!!!

Ava got to finally meet Uncle Jimmy today. We are so proud of him and we are so thankful for his service to this country. He truly has lived his life for the service of others...what a great role model for our children. Ava was finally glad to meet this person her parents talk about all the time! We love you Uncle Jimmy and we look forward to spending these few weeks with you.

We Love Mamie's and Pap-Pap's

We went to one of favorite places this week.....Mamie's and Pap-Pap's! We wanted to spend some time there because it was my long 5 days off and Jarred starts back to school this upcoming week and we might not get to go for awhile. Brooke and Nathan came up too! We did a lot of swimming, riding tractors, taking walks, and laughing together. We also sewed so many cute things for Andee's shower coming up!Bath time is so much more fun with cousins!!

Thirty, the new 27!

Andee turned thirty yesterday! She made an announcement that we had it wrong, she was only really 27!?! Well, I hate to break the news to you sweetie....you really are 30!

We celebrated the big day by having dinner at Buca di Beppo downtown. Let me tell you, the food was amazing. I think we all eat way too much. I think it was the best spaghetti and meatballs I have ever had! Then of course we had the wonderful cake and cupcakes. I got the cake from the bakery where my mom and dad got their wedding cake. It was so good....the icing is so light and tasty.

It was a great night. Happy Birthday Andee! I sure hope you had as much fun as we all did.

Lucky Me

Over the hills and through the woods to Grand-Mother's house we go...

This past weekend we went to Mamaw and Pappy's. We have not been there since we got married and we wanted to make the trip before the Fall semester started. We had a great time. I think they loved having Ava all to themselves. It was a relaxing weekend....we are not going to wait as long to get back next time. Of course we had to ride the motorcycle. Pappy, you are one cool dude! ;-)
Now Jarred is begging for one...yikes! They make me so nervous. He said he would just ride it to the gym and back....right!?!We had fun bowling on the Wii. Mamaw beat Jarred....you go Mamaw!
Before Chruch
When we were leaving on Sunday, Jarred was quite. I looked over at him and he was upset. I asked what was wrong and he said that he just hated to leave. It truly was a heart melting moment for me. Jarred loves he grandparents deeply and so do I.
