2 Months Old

Ava is two months old! Time is going by way to fast! I am having the best time being a mommy! I thank God everyday for giving her to us, we are so blessed!

What Ava is up to:

1. She is still wearing a newborn diaper, but they are getting a little tight so we will finish the few we have and put her in the size 1.
2. We put her down between 10 and 10:30 and she sleeps until 5:30 or 6. She is still sleeping in her bassinet in our room.
   
3. She is smiling at us all the time. The place she smiles the most is the changing table....I guess she likes getting a clean diaper.
4. She is now starting to coo and laugh at us.
5. She holds her head up for long periods of time on her tummy mat.
6. She can still wear some of her newborn outfits but we retired the sleepers weeks ago because she is to long.
7. She weighs about 10 1/2 pounds(last week)
   

We love this girl more that words can explain, she is a constant joy to us. Thank you God for the best gift we could have ever received!

Our Great Weekend

We went to visit Jarred's parents this weekend for Wayne's birthday. We had such a great time! It is always so good to see and spend time with his family. Andee and JD came up on Friday after Andee's doctor appointment so she could go to Canton. She found out what she was having and wanted to do a little shopping. It is going to be a GIRL---Aubree Michelle.

We went to show off Ava on Friday at Motor Trike. This is the company my father-in-law runs. They turn motorcycles into trikes. It is such a neat place and they all wanted to visit with Ava...we even interrupted a meeting! ;-) The Stallion Ava's onesie said "Pa-paw is my #1 Cowboy". We had to bring her first cowboy hat too!
Cooking with Ma-maw. She is teaching you early! Sleeping beauty....she loves to sleep in her Ma-maw and Pa-paw's bed. Lounging by the pool in her first swim suit! I can't wait until she is a little bigger and we can take her swimming! I hope she loves the water like her mommy!
Canton takes place every month the weekend before the first Monday. It is a huge place where vendors from all over bring goodies that you can buy. I always find some unique things to buy. Andee wanted to go look at baby stuff since she knew what she was having. My friend Amanda was there buying her bedding too! The cell phones do not work there so we did not get to meet up with her as planned!One of our many purchases. Andee's husband JD is in a band so she had a dress made that said "Im with the band....they ROCK"! It was so cute. We had a great time. We could have stayed longer, but it was so hot and duty called....had to pump and get back to feed little Miss Ava Grace! She found some bedding she liked too!Some of my purchases. I got a growth chart for Ava that matches her room perfectly! I got some cute outfits, necklaces, a leopard rug for the kitchen, some boxes to wrap cute gifts, and of course we got some bows! Can you ever have to many bows? What a great shopping trip!

This is one of my favorite rooms in our house. My hubby worked so hard on this room for our little princess. I had wanted to stripe the walls with the green and cream, but he thought due to the texture on the walls it would not work. I begged him to try and it worked!! I love how it turned out and I just know Ava loves her room! Enjoy the tour!

One of my favorite blogs(www.kellyskornerblog.com) that I read is doing a special every Friday that shows different rooms in your house. This week is dining rooms. I love to look and see ideas and I thought maybe you might enjoy seeing mine. I love our dining room, even though we hardly use it!

All the photos are black and white. I need to update with a photo of my new little princess! ;-)Besides photos, something else in every room is leopard....Love it! Love it! Love it!
Still need to finish putting my china in the hutch! I had the Christmas dishes in it for Christmas, with all the bed rest and new baby I have not had time to put it all back together!

My Daddy Dressed Me....Yikes!

I went to my favorite store today, Ann Taylor Loft. They were having a good sale and I wanted to get some post baby clothes. While I was gone, Ava spit up and Jarred had to change her. Don't worry Ava, Mommy will dress you when we have to go somewhere or I will at least lay the clothes out for daddy.
I was laughing so hard when I walked in to this outfit. Jarred's words were--"It matches, it is polka-dots." Lord help her! ;-)
You can't tell how bad it truly was by the picture. The polka-dots were not even the same color.

I got sunshine on a cloudy day....

Ava has been smiling at me for over a week. She seemed to smile the most when I would sing to her. Her favorites are "Jesus loves me" and "My girl". I would tell Jarred and he would say she is not old enough yet, it is just gas. Well, he finally saw that she does smile because she started smiling at him when he would sing too! I love her smile, it truly makes my day!
I thought I would share the package I got today! Check out her cute new hair bows. I have the best bow lady if anyone needs some. Everyone thinks this is so funny(I have been getting made fun of!) because I will be getting a new bow each month...a bow-of-the-month club! Stop laughing!! My princess needs to accessorize! ;-)

Ridin' in Style

My girls sure like to ride in style....both of them love to ride. Sophie was getting a little tired so Jarred put her in the basket. I told him she would not like it, but I was wrong. She would stick her little head out of the sides and just look at everything. It was so cute. I guess Sophie will not be getting the much needed exercise she needs from now on. She will want to ride in style!

Mother's Day Gift

One more thing I forgot to mention.....
I got the best gift this morning! Ava slept from 10:30 to 5:00. When she started crying and I looked at my watch I was shocked....6 hours! Then I laid her back down after I feed her and she slept until 9:00. I felt so good this morning. I don't know if it was because she was so tired from the weekend...I sure hope this becomes her new routine! I guess I will see how she does tonight! ;-)

My First Mother's Day!

What a great Mother's day it has been! We went to Jarred's parents for the weekend to attend a Mother's day banquet at Great Ma-maw's church. It was great to be with her for Mother's day. I feel so blessed to have Jarred's family, I love them more than I could have ever imagine. Here are a few pictures from the weekend: The best Sister-in-law and Mother-in-law

Today was my first Mother's day and I have more appreciation for my Mother today than I ever have. I thank you mom for all your love, support, patience, nurturing, and guidance you have given me all these years of my life. I pray that I will be the kind of mother to Ava that you have been to me. I love you Mom!

We had a great day! Jarred made me breakfast...Wow, that does not happen often! ;-) I really do have the best husband. Then we rushed to get ready and headed to church. It was so good to be back, I have really missed church all those months of bed rest and then we waited to get back with all the swine flu scare. After church we went to lunch with Mimi and Aunt Ashley. It was a great day and I am so thankful for my baby girl. I truly thank God for my most precious gift! Happy Mother's Day to all you mommies!
When we got home from church this is what I had waiting from my friend Andee. I not only have been blessed with my family, but I truly have the best friends. The flowers are beautiful and I love the Mother/Daughter figurine!

The JOYS of motherhood

Jarred and I were giving Ava a bath tonight and it finally happened. Yes, that is pee all over me! Jarred thought this was so funny and ran and got the camera. I told him he could laugh now but it will happen to him eventually! Ha!
